Web Development on Metiza.com, an Online WordPress Magazine for Teen Girls
While working on a contract for for Vitamin T, I was the primary web developer for Metiza Magazine, an online magazine for teen girls. While working on this WordPress site, that is hosted via Microsoft Azure web servers, some work I did included:
- Using the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, and PHP regular expressions, so the client could log into the WordPress admin and paste in Google AdSense code themselves that was optimized for mobile devices.
- For tablet and mobile devices, using JavaScript and jQuery to make a popup window appear with steps on home to add a shortcut icon to the home screen of the phone or tablet, along with a link inside the the popup to close and not show it again.
- Set up Google Analytics tracking code, along with filters that ignore spam website visitors for useful data.
- Collaborating with various people for artistic and technical direction including Selina Petosa (Rational Interaction Founding Principal, Chief Creative Officer and Metiza Magazine Advisor); Ian Clausen (Rational Interaction Director of Technology); and Amanda Holberg (Marketing Strategist, Social Media Coordinator at Metiza Magazine).
